Real Estate Franchises in Santa Clarita Do Not Matter

ConfusedMan Real Estate Franchises in Santa Clarita Do Not Matter

Yesterday I received a wonderful phone call from a new client.

In the beginning of the conversation, I wasn’t sure that he would become my client at all.  This guy was a grinder, but like many real estate buyers today, he was very well informed about the market, his financing options, and the Santa Clarita Valley.  He also knew a lot about Mello Roos bonds, and he wanted to avoid those.

He was sizing me up…and I knew it.

I was being asked questions like, “Where is your office located?” and “How many transactions have you done this year?”  I replied to this man that my office is in a dedicated part of my house, right off from the entry.  It’s a home office, and it’s my only office.  When I honestly answered him about how many real estate transactions that I have completed this year, he was quiet for a moment then simply stated “Impressive”.

I thought so too…especially in this challenging market.

I began to explain to my future client how I operate my business by focusing on the client and being mobile and quick to react.  He said that he was fine with my office situation.  In fact he was more than fine…he wanted to find a real estate agent who could take care of his needs instead of the needs of their broker, their franchise, or their ego.  He liked the way that younger agents are changing the typical real estate franchise perception.

After I was asked about 8-10 more carefully framed questions (it was obvious that this man had spent considerable time in creating his question list), we discussed the criteria for his real estate needs.

Pardon the interruption…

All of a sudden, it appeared as if my future client was being interrupted.  He became quite curt, then interrupted me, and politely asked if he could call me back in five minutes…to which I naturally obliged.

While waiting for the return call, I started to search the MLS for this buyer’s criteria.  Five minutes passed and my phone rang.  It was my future client again (I’m happy to be working with a man of his word I thought to myself).

Then he asked me if I would do a really great job in helping him to find and purchase a wonderful home for his family in Valencia.  He asked if I would be attentive to his needs, represent him in his transactions, and negotiate hard for the best deal.  To all of these I answered…absolutely!

Then he said that he consulted with his wife during the past five minutes, and they would like me to be their real estate agent.  I was honored.  Afterward, he admitted that he has been following my blog for some time, and visiting my site for information.  He felt that he knew me a little by what I have been writing about.  He just needed reassurance from a phone call.

This totally made my week!

So much for waiting for walk-in buyers at some real estate franchise in Santa Clarita…
